Notice

The IEEE student branch of Vivekanand Education Society's Institute of Technology ( V.E.S.I.T. ) has organized an Inter-collegiate Technical paper Contest on the 28th of August 1999.

All papers may be submitted ON or BEFORE 20th August 1999, to the IEEE student officer in your college, or to the below mentioned contacts.

Paper submitted to the Student-in-charges, must be intimated to the any one of the above contacts as well. All students are invited to come forward and participate in this prestigious event and claim the fantastic prizes to be won.

RULES :

Round 1 :

1. Each team can consist of a maximum of four members.

The paper should not exceed 20 sides of A4 stationery (inclusive of illustrations).

The paper should be compulsorily accompanied by a synopsis, not exceeding sides of A4 size page.

The first page must include : a. The title of the paper. b. The participants' name, address, College, Course and Department. c. IEEE Membership No. (if any). d. Contact telephone numbers. e. Email addresses (if any). An entry fee of Rs. 25 per non-IEEE member in the team must be submitted along with the paper. Two hard copies and a soft copy must be submitted for the entry to be considered valid. The paper should not have appeared previously in print or electronic media. All papers must be received before or on the specified date, else the entry will be regarded as NULL and VOID. The paper should be an original work or compilation of the participants and should not have been submitted to any other paper contest before. No alteration in the team composition will be permitted after submission of an entry. The papers would be short-listed on the basis of the synopsis, technical content, originality and presentation. The decision of the judges is FINAL & BINDING.

Round 2 :

The participants would be intimidated in advance if their papers are chosen for presentation in Round 2. Presentations may be accompanied by the use of OHP or DP, which will be provided.

The length of the presentation may not exceed 10 mins (excluding Q&A session). The decision of the judge panel is final and binding. Use of any special aids (which are not previously cleared with the organisers) is not allowed. Originality, technical matter and depth of the subject would be given special importance. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TOPICS : The paper may be written on any topic related to, but not restricted to the following fields :

Artificial Intelligence
Neural Networks
Human Computer Interaction
Trends in Computing
Internet security
E-commerce
Spread Spectrum
GPS (Global Positioning Systems)
Networking
MRI (Magnetic resonance Imaging)

Any other topic related to the following fields :

Computer Engineering
Electronics Engineering
Communications Engineering
Instrumentation Engineering
Electrical Engineering
